Frequently Asked Questions
Most of modern vehicles contain an ECU (Engine Control Unit) that is a small computer that controls how the engine works. Vehicle manufacturers de-tune the engine by setting the software on the ECU to default before sending the vehicle out. This is done due to manufacturers selling one vehicle across various markets; this means that the software settings on the ECU must take into account different climates, laws & restrictions and varying quality of fuels.
Our vehicle remap software replaces the default software on the ECU, this is done by overwriting the default software with our software impacting the optimization of the cars performance. This is referred as vehicle remapping and is done via OBD / ECU module. New software will show immediate noticeable results.
We don’t see a reason why it shouldn’t be remapped, There are several reasons like, engine response will be better with the toque and power delivery being smoother and much more noticeable. Increased fuel efficiency (MPG) which enables safer overtaking 😉 to many benefits and its a investment as you’ll save on fuel up to 20% more efficiency
Benefit of a remap is that the process is completely reversible with no trace. If the remap doesn’t meet your expectations within 14 days of receiving it, we can reverse it free of charge with a half refund, if the 14 day mark has passed there will be a £50 charge for the process with no refund
Presuming the vehicle is kept up to standards with maintenance and serviced, a vehicle with a professionally tuned software will not cause any technical faults. As we do not change anything on your vehicle other than the software map. There is nothing for us to give warranty on other than the software itself against faults. If for some reason you experience an issue, we will try to assist you during your journey and in returning your car back to OEM standard for testing.
Absolutely, All software solutions designed by us remain legal and will pass all emission tests with better results!
Depending on your requirements and driving styles will impact your fuel economy, for example if you decide to go for maximum power and drive it like it, you can expect decreased MPG as without the map.
Generally with increased torque in the low end whilst you drive conservatively the fuel economy will be more noticeable, Please acknowledge that greater fuel economy is mostly on diesel turbocharged engines. Petrol engines will remain at the same fuel economy or slightly better without a deficit in economy
Having modifications prior to the remap can be good as it would be advisable to let us know as it could result in more performance.
